Common Questions
Mold FAQCommon signs include a persistent musty odor, visible spots or discoloration on walls and ceilings, recent water damage, and allergy symptoms that improve when you leave the house. Mold often hides behind walls, under flooring, and in attics — so if you suspect it, a free inspection is the fastest way to know for sure.
Mold can cause respiratory irritation, congestion, and allergy or asthma flare-ups, and some species — like black mold — produce mycotoxins that warrant stricter handling. Children, older adults, and anyone with a compromised immune system are most vulnerable. If occupants are experiencing symptoms, we recommend testing promptly.
It depends on the cause. Mold resulting from a sudden, covered event — a burst pipe or storm damage, for example — is often covered; long-term neglect usually is not. We document moisture sources, damage, and our full remediation process so your claim file is as strong as possible.
Most residential projects take one to four days from containment to clearance. Larger commercial or whole-home cases are scoped individually. You receive a written timeline with your estimate before any work begins, and we do not start until you approve it.
Usually, yes. We seal the work area with containment barriers and run negative-air HEPA filtration, so the rest of your home stays unaffected. For severe whole-house contamination, we may recommend relocating for a day or two — we will tell you honestly before work starts.
